Michael Bilo Of Vancouver, Washington, entered his eternal home on March 10, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana on September 26, 1928 to the late Max and Eleanor Bilo.
He graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High School and Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation in 1961 he was employed by Indianapolis Power and Light Company, where he continued to work for 30 years until his retirement in January of 1992 as Superintendent of Steam Operations at the Perry K Plant. He also served in IPL's Comprehensive Business Review Team and was named a Special Project Coordinator in September 1991. He was also active in the service organization, Luminaries after retirement.
He married Marlene Wagner of Chalmers, IN on August 2, 1958, she survives. They were blessed with three children, John (Ellen) of Indianapolis, Robert (Diane) of Mason, OH, June (David) Berfanger of Vancouver, WA; nine grandchildren and brother, Max. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. He lived in Indianapolis until 2004, when he moved to Vancouver, WA.
Services will be at 1 p.m. March 17, 2010 in Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E. County Road, 100 North, Avon, IN, with viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Reynolds, IN.
Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Vancouver, WA, where he was a member.
