Eleanor "Kay" Long 86 Indianapolis passed away Wednesday March 10, 2010. She was born August 14, 1923 in Lebanon, NH, the daughter of Roger and Katherine Wood.
Mrs. Long was the valedictorian of her class when she graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, NH. She was a graduate of Wellesley College and received her Physical Therapy Degree from Harvard. Mrs. Long spent 30 years working at Riley Hospital caring for the first polio patients and then the cerebral palsy clinic. She is a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa, Elks Lodge and numerous golf leagues. She spent her retired years volunteering at St. Vincent's medical library and IMA's gift shop. She enjoyed horseback riding, training and raising dogs, and was an avid sports fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garry Long and son, Dale R. Long.
She is survived by a daughter, Laurie E. (Jim Davis) Long, a son, Christopher D. (Allison) Long; brother, Roger S. (Polly) Wood; daughter in law, Jacki Long and five grandchildren.
Saturday March 20th Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church 100 West 86th Street at 1 p.m. and visitation at noon at the church.
