Jacob Brian Ziegler 89, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Friday February 26, 2010. He was born June 3, 1920 in Evansville, Indiana the son of Jacob and Ethel Ziegler.
Mr. Ziegler was a machinist for Detroit Diesel Allison retiring in 1982 and he also developed the electric car named the Volectra (picture taken November 1976) and enjoyed bowling and square dancing as well as tinkering and inventing gadgets. Mr. Ziegler served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during W.W. II.
Mr. Ziegler was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy N. (Davis) Ziegler; daughters, Caroline C. DeBorde-Zeigler, Susan E. Ziegler, Patricia A. Neal and Kathryn L. Crowner-Coleman; grandchildren, Gregory A. DeBorde, Evher N. Crowner, Kathy Neal and Sara Shemesh; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Whittinger, Anaiya Crowner, Jeremiah Boards, Ajani Boards, Meir Cheim, Tamar, Gaverial, Avigail, Yoseph and Michael Shemesh; son-in-laws, Pete Neal, Larry Coleman and Yair Shemesh; sister, Emma Schofield. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren E. Crowner; grandson, Jeffrey Brian Ziegler; sister, Mary Jane Pierce; brother, Paul Ziegler.
Private services are scheduled for a later date.
