Harold Lewis Osting 89, of Indianapolis, passed away January 31, 2010. He was born June 17, 1920 in Decatur County, Indiana to Loren and Lucille Carr Osting.
Harold lived most of his life on the West side of Indianapolis. He was a firefighter from 1948-1982 at Fire House 9, 22, abd 30. He was a member of the Firefighters Union 416, American Legion Post 64, Speedway Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Moose Lodge #500. Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1946.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Indianapolis, IN; 1 son, Paul (wife Rene) Osting of Santa Maria, CA; and 1 step-son, Chuck (wife Joyce) Hess of Pittsboro, IN; 2 daughters, Diane (husband Rodney) Black of Indianapolis, IN and Donna (husband Ed) Sharp of Carmel, IN; and 1 step-daughter, Rebecca (husband Johnny) Gray of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters, Thelma (Don) Genda of Frankfort and Mabel Gauel of Phoneix, Arizona; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Conkle Funeral Home, 4925 W. 16th St., Speedway, IN with Rev. John Bart officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, February 5 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.
Genda Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
