Paul H. Vogel
Paul H. Vogel 81, Avon, Indiana, passed away
Monday October 26, 2009. He was born August 13, 1928 in Lamar, Indiana to Robert and Louise Vogel.
Mr. Vogel was a U.S. Army Veteran, a Trooper for Indiana State Police, then a pilot. He retired with the rank of Major after 24 years. He was also a pilot in private industry after retirement. Mr. Vogel was a Sagamore of the Wabash and member of: Avon United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Experimental Aircraft Association, Quiet Birdmen, and a licensed pilot in fixed wing, helicopter and jet wing with over 14, 500 hours of flying time. He received his Air Frame and Power Plant Certificate from Vincennes University, and attended Evansville University for 1½ years.
He is survived by his wife: Betty S. Kemmerling Vogel; sons: Jeffrey Vogel (Maria) and Daniel Vogel (Scot Morse); daughters: Diane Worthington (Baron) and Donna Vogel Siciliani (Michael); brothers: Albert and James Vogel; sisters: Esther Hoops and Norma Bowen; grandchildren: Eric and Katie Vogel, Kemmerling Adele Worthington.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Dr. John Vogel. T
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Avon United Methodist Church with calling there from 1 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Avon United Methodist Church, or donor's favorite charity.
