David Allen Ogden

David Allen Ogden, 69, of Plainfield IN passed away peacefully at 12:10 PM Tuesday April 16, 2013 at his home in Plainfield. He was born in Indianapolis 12-6-1943 to the late James E. Ogden and Manie A. Marsh Ogden.

He married Rosa Elayne Ogden 4-11-2000 and she survives. Also surviving are a brother Donald W Ogden from St. Cloud FL.; a son Parrish A Ogden(Maria); daughters, Sonja I Robertson(Lyndon), Christie L Ogden all from Benton AR; Belinda M McDaniel from Clearwater FL. and step-daughter April M Land(Charlie) from Coatesville IN. Grandchildren Joshua Robertson, Nikki Robertson, Christian Ogden, Maggie Ogden, Brevin McDaniel and Tristan Lee. Step-grandchildren Ashley Land, Tyler Land and Dayton Land. Step-great granddaughter Aubree Rose Land-Heier.

Preceding him in death were brothers Oren, James, William, and Harold Ogden and sisters Velma New , Rosa Lee McQuillin, and Juanita Lock.

David served in the United States Navy 1961-1971 and was a gunner on the USS HORNET during the Vietnam War receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device and National Defense Service Medal. He also served as a Danville police officer from 1971-1977. He retired from PSI in Plainfield 2001 and had worked part time at Hendricks Regional Health. David adored his children and grandchildren. His favorite hobby was creating special images with their photos on his computer. David will be greatly missed and remembered for his humor and extreme love of family.

A service will be held at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon Thursday April 18, 2013 with visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and a Military Service at 1:00 pm.

David's family wants to thank all those at St. Francis Hospice especially Angie, Pat and Karen who lovingly helped and cared for David during these past two months.
