John W. Reimer 95, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. He was born October 30, 1914 in Cedar County, Nebraska, the son of John Reimer and Lena Olson.
Mr. Reimer spent 10 years in Alaska; four years on the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He had a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. He had been employed at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, Allison Division GMC, Naval Avionics, Indianapolis, A.F. Plant Rep Office, Indianapolis. He retired in 1976.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Irma Block and Velma Klein.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Reimer, they would have been married 58 years on March 30, 2010, son, James Robert Reimer (Carolyn); two granddaughters, Kristie Reimer and Jody Bullard (Derek) and one great-grandson, six month old, Tyler, all of California. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
